Timberland Committed to the Environment - Shoes have Enviro-Label

 Timberland Enviro Footprint

Timberland, the outdoor clothing and shoe manufacturer, has a "nutritional" label that details what goes into making their shoes.

To give some context they provide what some typical household items use.  The comparisons are interesting and may be the first "green label" from a manufacturer - other than the required EPA mileage stickers used by auto manufacturers.

From Timberland's Web Site "an average 16 cubic foot refrigerator uses 17.4 KWH per day while a boot requires 3.1 KWH per pair.

They also highlight that Timberland owned facilities use 5% renewable energy.
