Wind Energy without Turbines from Cornell University Prof.
Cornell professor Francis Moon (photo) has done some research on generating wind power wit
hout turbine blades.
The research looks at “ … vibro-wind power: harvesting en
ergy from the wind as it flows around commercial and residential buildings. …”
If scalable this would might be a source of power in many large cities bringing the generation source close to the point of use. Large citie4s with multi story buildings may have more power potential with vibro-wind than solar as the roof-print dwarfs the outside surface area.
